Abbey's new-build and flexible mortgages introduced

Abbey 's new-build and flexible deals are available from today.

Its new-build fixed-rate and tracker two-year mortgages have been introduced at a rate of 4.69 per cent with a minimum deposit of ten per cent, reports mortgage introducer, the financial product website.

Abbey's New Flexible Plus product will be offered at an interest rate of 5.09, 0.16 per cent better value than its previous deal.

It will track the Bank of England base rate with an additional 0.59 per cent.

While its Flexible Plus product at a rate of 4.99 per cent is still available, Abbey has also introduced a new fixed-rate 4.99 per cent deal and a two-year fixed-rate product at 4.54 per cent for intermediaries.

"The completion deadlines [for new-build mortgages] are 12 months longer rather than six months to reflect the fact that buying a new property can sometimes take longer than buying a re-sale property," said Rick Okey, managing director of Abbey for intermediaries.
