Leeds Building Society Two-Year Fixed-Rate ISA available

A new Leeds Building Society Two-Year Fixed-Rate ISA has been launched today, with an interest rate of 4.75 per cent until April 1st 2008.

There is also a three-year option available with a rate of 4.85 per cent.

These two- and three-year terms are also available as tracker accounts, which will track above the Bank of England base rate at 0.25 and 0.5 per cent respectively until October 1st 2006.

Currently, the rates on these tracker options are therefore 4.75 and five per cent.

"These accounts offer an excellent combination of a highly competitive rate of return over two and three years and give customers a choice, enabling them to take a guaranteed fixed-rate or track the base rate," said Stuart Fearn, product development manager at Leeds.

He added that one penalty free withdrawal of a portion of the initial invested capital was permitted on all the products, adding an element of flexibility to the accounts.

The Leeds Building Society Two-Year Fixed-Rate ISA and other offers all require a minimum opening balance of £1 and have a maximum allowed balance of £3,000 plus the previous year's investment.
