Halifax Two-Year Fixed-Rate mortgage on offer

A Halifax Two-Year Fixed-Rate mortgage is currently available to customers, with an interest rate set at 4.39 per cent until July 31st 2008.

When the introductory 24-month period expires, the interest level on this product will revert to the standard variable rate at the time – this is currently 6.5 per cent.

The overall cost for comparison on the Halifax Two-Year Fixed-Rate mortgage is 6.4 per cent annual percentage rate, product website Mortgage Introducer reports.

An arrangement fee of £499 is set on this package – this can be added to the loan amount. A valuation fee of £300 will also apply.

Early repayment charges will come into effect on any amount of a customer's mortgage that is repaid during the opening two-year period.

Halifax claims to be the UK's number one mortgage lender and also offers credit cards, personal loans and insurance.
