UCB Home Loans Self-Certification mortgage fees among changes

The fee arrangements on the UCB Home Loans Self-Certification mortgage range and buy-to-let products have been altered today, with the £75 up front reservation fee being removed.

However, arrangement fees on these offers have been increased, with buy-to-let offers now charging £595 compared to the previous £495.

The UCB Home Loans Self-Certification mortgage range options will have arrangement fees changed from £330 to £495.

Keith Astill, managing director of UCB Home Loans, said that the removal of reservation fees should speed up application processing times and also offset the increase in arrangement fees.

He added that the increases re-aligned UCB with the rest of the market while "maintaining [its] competitive position".

"This is the first time we have increased the fees on our buy-to-let range since we entered the market and it's over two years since the last change to the self-cert fees," Mr Astill said.

UCB specialises in the provision of self-cert and buy-to-let mortgages to people who are self-employed and on variable incomes.
