Nationwide Life Critical Illness policies will donate to charity

Every time a Nationwide Critical Illness policy, Life Assurance or Income Protection package are taken up the company will donate £1 to the Macmillan Cancer Support charity, it has stated today.

The company reports that it has recently made a number of improvements to the protection policies it offers, which provide customers with "peace of mind at very competitive prices".

Falling ill is an unwelcome thought for anybody, but one in three people are diagnosed with cancer at some point in their lives, Nationwide Life explains, making the Macmillan charity a worthy cause for donations.

"Nationwide has had a strong association with Macmillan Cancer Support for many years and we wanted to make our members even more aware of the services this charity offers to those affected by cancer," said Robin Bailey, divisional director at Nationwide.

A minimum of £15,000 will be donated to the charity through the number of Nationwide Life Critical Illness policies and other protection options taken up. There is no upper limit to the amount donated.
