Nationwide Two-Year Fixed-Rate mortgage among changes

A number of changes have been announced in the range of fixed-rate mortgages offered by Nationwide today, including a £100 increase in reservation fee on the Nationwide Two-Year Fixed-Rate mortgage.

This offer now has a reservation fee of £699 and is available with rates starting at an increased level of 4.55 per cent.

All other rates on the lender's fixed-rate range have also been increased, with the two and three-year options now carrying rates of 4.84 and 4.88 per cent respectively.

Interest rates of 4.94 and 5.04 per cent have been placed on the fixed-rate mortgages offered by Nationwide for terms of five and ten years.

"Nationwide's products are still very competitive for borrowers whether they are looking for a short-term deal or a longer term fixed-rate," said Steve Clode, divisional director of marketing for the lender.

"Money market rates have been rising steadily, however, and we have found it necessary to follow other lenders who have recently increased their rates."

The changes on the Nationwide Two-Year Fixed-Rate mortgage and other packages will take effect from May 9th onwards.
