Standard Life Investments Higher Income Fund reaches £400m mark

The Standard Life Investments Higher Income Fund has broken through the £400 million barrier, the company has announced today.

Standard Life states that the fund, which was launched on February 7th 2000, is intended to provide investors with a gross income return of 7.1 per cent.

During the past three years, the Standard Life Investments Higher Income Fund has managed a performance level of over 38 per cent, compared to an industry average of 28 per cent, the company claims.

This means that investors who put £1,000 into the fund when it launched will now own an investment worth £1489.20.

"The fund has proven particularly popular with investors looking for high levels of income and seeking exposure to a diverse range of high yielding assets," said Erlend Lochen, joint manager of the fund.

"Assets are selected using our robust investment process and pulling on the wide ranging experience of our tem of investment professionals."

Standard Life Investments is one of the largest investment houses in the UK, with assets under management of £124.8 billion.
