Legal & General Insurance launch green initiative

To coincide with world environment day, Legal & General Insurance has switched to 55 per cent recycled paper for all its marketing material, a change which will mean as many as 7,600 trees will not be chopped down.
A further 3,400 trees will be saved as 100 per cent recycled paper is to be used in the company's photocopying machines.
The environmental initiative has been brought about by a project team established to continue efforts to reduce the company's waste output.
Gareth Hoskin, chairman of the group environment committee at Legal & General Insurance, said: "This is a positive step forward for Legal & General in our commitment to continually improve our environment practices and to promote sustainable development."
The green initiative is supported by the Waste & Resource Action Programme (WRAP), which was established in 2001 to promote sustainable waste management in the UK.
