Prudential Home Insurance: Men lose millions on wedding rings

A warning has been given today by Prudential Home Insurance that 13 per cent of men lose their wedding rings in the first three months after getting married.

In total £94 million pounds worth of wedding rings will be lost in the next 12 months, according to a survey by Prudential Home Insurance.

The research also revealed that in eight per cent of couples neither person has the original engagement or wedding rings.

Wedding and engagement rings cost hundreds of pounds and Prudential Home Insurance warns that Brits are letting 'a fortune slip off their fingers'.

Phil Southgate, media relations manager, Prudential Home Insurance, said: "With many engagement rings costing the equivalent of a month's salary, we would advise listing the ring as a 'named' item on your home insurance policy."

Prudential Home Insurance offers online quotes and a range of pricing options in partnership with Direct Choice.
