Legal & General Insurance: Yobs still top concern

Anti-social behaviour is the UK's number one safety concern, according to research by Legal & General Insurance.

Legal & General Insurance found that despite the introduction of Anti-Social Behaviour Orders (Asbos) eight years ago, Britons are twice as concerned with anti-social crimes than any other type of crime.

Of those surveyed, one in four identified the perceived yob culture as their utmost safety concern.

Elaine Parkes, technical services manager at Legal & General, said: "This research indicates a high level of apprehension across the UK population towards crime and personal safety, despite of the introduction of ASBOs and increased levels of policing."

The findings from Legal & General Insurance come as the number of ASBOs issued in England approaches 10,000.
