Chelsea Building Society Mortgages: Mum's the word

Twice as many people would ask their mother for financial help rather than their father, according to research by Chelsea Building Society Mortgages.

The research from Chelsea Building Society Mortgages also turned up some interesting regional variations on the issue.

Yorkshire mums are five times more likely to be asked for financial help than Yorkshire dads and it seems Welsh women are perceived by their daughters as the worst at managing their finances.

Chelsea Building Society Mortgages survey was conducted to coincide with its new Helping Hand Mortgage.

Speaking on the new Helping Hand Mortgage, Andy Paddock from Chelsea Building Society Mortgages comma said: "A favourable feature of our products is that we base the term on the child's age rather than the parents giving more flexibility and independence to the purchasers."

Chelsea Building Society has been established for over 125 years and is the sixth largest building society in the UK.
