Parents and their children could be taking advantage of Halifax Bank Children's Regular Saver which has now been available for a year.

The Halifax Bank Children's Regular Saver offers a fixed interest rate of 10 per cent and 30,000 accounts were opened within the first two weeks of its launch.

An average of £70 per month has been gained by savers since the product was introduced in twelve months ago.

Peter Jackson, head of banking and savings at Halifax, said: "We broke new ground with the Halifax Bank Children's Regular Saver, paying the highest rate available on even small monthly deposits.
