Cornhill Direct Home Insurance reveals Brits are untrusting neighbours

British people no longer seem to love their neighbour, according to new research by Cornhill Direct Home Insurance.

Arguments about parking, noise levels and lack of privacy have all contributed to tensions and arguments in many neighbourhoods around the UK, the Cornhill Direct Home Insurance survey revealed.

Of the 3,000 people polled in the survey, 34 per cent said they would prefer to live in an isolated position, away from any troublesome neighbours.

Trust between those living on the same street seems to have been lost to a large extent as the research found that 61 per cent of people would not ask neighbours to look after their homes while they went away on holiday.

A spokesman for Cornhill Direct Home Insurance said: "Having neighbours you know and trust is important. A real sense of community helps to reduce crime and vandalism and makes for a much safer place to live."

Cornhill Direct Insurance is part of Allianz Cornhill which has a presence in more than 70 countries worldwide and employs over 177,000 people.
