Cooperative Insurance Eco Motor Insurance released in response to consumer demand

Over 82 per cent of consumers in the UK would prefer to buy an eco friendly product rather than a non-eco friendly product, according to research by Cooperative Motor Insurance.

Buying habits in the UK are increasingly being influenced by peoples' consciences and the insurance company also reports that ethical consumerism purchases account for £3.4 billion spent in the UK each year.

The Cooperative Insurance Eco Motor Insurance product contains environmentally friendly features throughout.

David Neave, director of general insurance at CIS, said: "The introduction of our Eco motor insurance product does not just help to offset the carbon emissions at the outset, it continues to contribute toward managing the environmental impact throughout the entire journey."

The Cooperative Bank has committed itself to not investing in companies which negatively impact the environment and the company also offers a 'green' mortgage product.
