More Than Insurance: UK vans suffer millions worth of damage

Businesses around the country are suffering significant financial losses because of petty theft and vehicle vandalism, according to research by More Than Insurance.

Up to 14 per cent of claims made on business vehicle insurance policies are caused in this way, which amounts to £620 million worth of damage.

The insurance company also points out that businesses lose out on possible revenues they cannot make while their vehicles are out of action, which can often happen as a result of these kinds of actions.

Mark Christer, director of More Than Business, said: "Not only is this type of crime an added stress, but often theft of a business vehicle means that owners of small businesses have to invest in new tools to replace those that have been stolen."

More Than Insurance offers a 15 per cent reduction on car insurance policies when customers make a purchase online.
