Kensington Mortgages cuts rates

Borrowers and intermediaries are the most likely to benefit from the latest rate cut announcement from Kensington Mortgages.

Self-certification products from the mortgage provider have had loadings cut while other products now offer reduced rates.

Kensington Simple Choices range is targeted at self-employed borrowers and rates on this series have been reduced from 0.4 per cent to 0.3 per cent.

As a specialist mortgage lender, Kensington can provide mortgage deals to customers who in many cases are unable to obtain one from other high street lenders.

Ian Giles, director of marketing at Kensington Mortgages, said: "Specialist lenders are well-placed to provide solutions for customers with more individual needs and they are also well placed to change the price of products to help their borrowers as and when they can."

"It is also satisfying that Kensington can beat many competitors' prices without imposing a higher lending charge - something that many of our rivals continue to burden their borrowers with," he added.

Kensington has been providing mortgages since 1955 and now has almost 90,000 customers nationwide.
