The Yorkshire Building Society Internet Saver Account is set to have its rates raised

Interest rates on the Yorkshire Building Society Internet Saver Account will be increased next month, the society has announced.

Rates are set to rise from 4.6 per cent to 4.85 per cent per annum and the gross rates are guaranteed to at least match the Bank of England base rate.

Customers of the Yorkshire internet account can invest anything from £1 to £1 million and interest rates remain the same.

The building society has also pointed out that the interest rate offer is not an introductory bonus designed to inflate the headline rate.

Chris Edwards, head of mortgages and savings at Yorkshire, said: "It's great that whilst there has been no change to the Bank of England base rate we are able to increase the rate on this popular savings account."

The Yorkshire Building Society also offers insurance, mortgage and credit card products.
