Standard Life Investments' UK Property Development Fund is set for launch

Marketing has commenced in anticipation of the launch of the Standard Life Investments' UK Property Development Fund, it has been announced.

It is hoped that the new fund will be able top achieve its equity targets of £150million to £200 million.

Investors in the new fund, which is aimed at British and international institutional investors, will have access to commercial property through a diversified portfolio.

A performance orientated fee structure means Standard Life hopes to maintain returns of 20 per cent per annum for investors.

Mark Watt, investment director in Standard Life Investment's property team, commented: "We believe that the timing is right for this type of product, which seeks to deliver property backed alpha to investors which complements and enhances returns from existing property portfolios."

The Standard Life Assurance company was founded in 1825 and was reincorporated as a mutual assurance company in 1925.
