New Birmingham Midshires Direct Savings Account launched

Birmingham Midshires has announced the launch of its latest direct savings account.

The Birmingham Midshires Direct Savings Account offers a guarantee to customers that it will maintain rates of interest at least 0.25 per cent above those of the ING Direct Savings Account for a period of two years.

Minimum investment in the product is £1 and there are no withdrawal or deposit restrictions on the latest account from the company which also offers a range of mortgage products.

Customers can control their savings account over the internet or by telephone.

Jason Robinson, director of savings operations at Birmingham Midshires, commented: "We love competition and with our guarantee to continuously keep our rate above ING, Birmingham Midshires is ensuring customers are always getting a great deal."

"The Birmingham Midshires Direct Savings account is our latest initiative to encourage consumers to save cash, giving them a great return for their investment." he added.

Birmingham Midshires became part of the Halifax group in April 1999.
