A mortgage designed for remortgagers is among a number of products which has had its rates reduced by Alliance & Leicester, the company has announced.

The Alliance & Leicester Two-year Base Rate Tracker Mortgage will track the Bank of England base rate for a two year period and its rates have been reduced by 0.15 per cent.

Valuation is free with the two-year tracker, while customers can borrow up to 95 per cent of the property value and the maximum loan value is £250,000.

Other mortgage products also having their rates reduced include the two, three and five year fixed rate borrowing options.

Mehrdad Yousefi, head of intermediary mortgages at Alliance & Leicester, said: "Our remortgage two year base rate tracker deal is extremely competitive and will appeal to those clients who are looking to switch to a competitive tracker rate at minimal cost to themselves."
