Safe drivers could save £10,000, says Privilege Insurance

An average lifetime saving for one of the nation's safe drivers is as much as £10,000, according to new research by Privilege Insurance.

Car drivers with four or more years no claims discount could save enough to buy a new car, the research found.

Those who obey road safety rules and are able to claim lower car insurance premiums can make a yearly saving of £203 on the insurance bill, while women tend to make greater savings than men, it has been revealed.

Ian Parker, managing director of Privilege Insurance, said: "The research shows that safe drivers are saving thousands of pounds by staying accident free, as well as making the roads a safer place for us all."

"The lifetime saving that safe drivers can make is further incentive for all drivers to take care when behind the wheel," he added.

Privilege Insurance describes itself as a safe driving champion, advertising under the slogan "you don't have to be posh to be privileged".
