MINT Credit Card research shows Brits are staying in to save

Brits are now far less likely to spend their money on going out to eat and drink than waas the case ten years ago, according to the latest MINT credit Card research.

The rising costs of eating out is being blamed for the fact that only half as many people dine out regularly and only 31 per cent of young adults do so once a week.

Instead of heading out people are more often having friends over to their home which is also thought to reflect the desire of more people to take control of their finances.

Jerry Toher, managing director of MINT, said: "We know from our research that a major reason for people to entertain at home is to control their finances.

"It seems that clever spending is fast becoming a priority for people, but without compromising on having fun."

MINT's financial services includes a range of insurance products.
