New Leeds Building Society Ten-year Fixed Rate Mortgage launched

A new ten-year fixed rate mortgage has been launched by Leeds Building Society, the company has announced.

The first increase in interest rates for over two years was announced last week by the Bank of England and consumers currently reassessing their mortgage options may wish to consider the new product which offers a rate of 5.19 per cent.

Available for up to 95 per cent loan to value, the Leeds Building Society Ten-year Fixed Rate Mortgage allows ten per cent capital repayments each year.

Stuart Fearn, product development manager, said: "We have created this product with a fee free option to ensure that customers with less funds available for fees can still benefit from fixed payments over a longer period."

"It is clear that customers want to lock in good value in a rising rate environment and this is an ideal opportunity," he added.

Leeds mortgage offers can be taken up online or at any of its 69 branches around the UK.
