Mums have a tough time on holiday, says Post Office Travel Insurance

Over half of all mums taking their children on holiday spend most of their time cooking, cleaning or looking after others rather than enjoying their time away, according to new research from Post Office Travel Insurance.

There is not much time to relax and unwind after spending six hours a day doing chores and over a million mums confess that they often feel more stressed after their holiday than before.

Departing from airports was reported to be the most stressful aspect of a holiday experience for mums, many of whom found their children to be harder work than their jobs.

Kevin McAdam, head of travel and leisure at the Post Office, comments: "It's amazing to think that mums will spend just as much time 'working' when they are on holiday as they do at home."

"Family holidays can send stress levels soaring so arranging travel essentials like comprehensive insurance and EHICs before travelling can ensure peace of mind for parents abroad," he adds

The Post Office also offers car insurance and credit cards in its range of financial products.
