Friends Provident upgrades portfolio tool

For finance companies wanting to provide their clients with best investment advice, Friends Provident is living up to its name and optimising investments.

The FTSE 100 life and pensions company has upgraded its web-based portfolio planning tool, Dynamic Portfolio Planner (DPP).

The portfolio's objective is to profile exact client risk and offer "guidance on efficient asset diversification".

The company has added ISAs as one of the latest features and is able to record whether a client has used their ISA allowance for the tax year.

Further key improvements to the portfolio include daily fund unit pricing, which enables DPP produce a more precise valuation of clients existing investments.

Christine Foyster, head of wealth management marketing at Friends Provident, explained that all the new improvements had been put in place to benefit clients of financial institutions.

"These developments add another string to the bow of Dynamic Portfolio Planner and show that we are committed to providing advisers with tools to meet their clients needs," she said.

Friends Provident provides life insurance and pensions to over 2.5 million people.
