Fearless investment with Coventry Building Society

Investing in stocks and the like can be daunting for many first-time investors. The fear of losing capital and complicated financial jargon is often enough to scare anyone away.

Now Coventry Building Society has decided to launch a new type of account, ensuring investors total capital protection and vowing a minimum rate of return, allowing would-be investors to dip their toe in the water.

The aptly named Guaranteed Investment Account is available until November 21st and offers, among other benefits, 12.75 per cent minimum growth maturity, tax free mini-cash and 100 per cent capital.

Peter Holding, the company's financial services and insurance manager, described the account as a base for people to get comfortable in investing.

"The Guaranteed Account will provide an excellent stepping stone for those customers who are not yet ready to fully invest in stocks and share products but want the potential growth that these types of accounts can offer," he said.

Coventry is the UK’s fifth largest building society and also offers a range of savings and mortgage products.
