'Friendly' Leeds Postal Access Bond launched

Investing can be scary for some consumers, especially when so many options are offered on a large scale.

Now Leeds Building Society has recognised that some people are fearful of investing their hard-earned money and has introduced a small-scale bond investment, aimed at people just starting out in the investment world.

The Postal Access Bond offers 5.25 per cent gross fixed up until January 1st 2008, when interest on maturity will be paid.

Stuart Fearn, product development managers at Leeds, says that this is an investment about profit and security.

"Customers know exactly what they are getting with the unique combination of a market leading return and full access to all of their funds at any time, which is not available anywhere else in the market," he said.

Mr Fearn says that the minimum investment of £100 is perfect for anyone wanting to test the investment market.

"Any investor can benefit from this fixed rate product that provides excellent value, flexibility and full access," he said.
