"Competitive" Britannia three-year fixed mortgage rates cut

The interest rate on the Britannia three-year fixed mortgage has been reduced from 5.04 per cent to a "competitive" 4.99 per cent.

This mortgage rate reduction comes after the Bank of England's monetary policy committee has increased the base rate and Britannia believes this mortgage will offer "peace of mind" to borrowers who want to budget for set monthly payments.

According to the lender's managing director of member business, Tim Franklin, the Britannia three-year fixed mortgage is a great deal.

"A fixed rate mortgage enables you to budget more easily knowing that your monthly repayments will not change," he said.

Mr Franklin also said he was "delighted" to announce that the three-year fixed remortgage of Britannia will also have a reduced mortgage rate of 5.29 per cent.

"We believe these changes will make this product a best buy for customers along with our five-year fixed mortgage, which has a rate of 5.14 percent," he said.
