Lloyds TSB Insurance reveals coolest wheels

Lloyds TSB Insurance has revealed its top ten list of the nation's favourite fictional cars.

In a poll conducted by Lloyds TSB Insurance, Knight Rider's Kitt was voted the coolest car on television and the big screen today.

It notched up more than a fifth of votes (21 per cent), beating tough competition to the finishing line.

The Italian Job Mini came second in the Lloyds TSB Insurance poll, followed by Herbie in third place, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang in fourth and the Back to the Future Delorean in the fifth spot.

Other cars in Lloyds TSB Insurance's top ten were the Bat Mobile, James Bond's Aston Martin and Del Boy's Reliant Robin.

Phil Loney, managing director of Lloyds TSB Insurance, said: "Two decades on and the cars of 2006 still don't have personalities or protect their owners from all forms of danger, so it's easy to understand why Kitt had such an effect on the nation.

"The fact that we still have a soft spot for cars like Kitt says a lot about how much we value our own motors."
