Students reminded about Sainsbury's Bank home insurance

The home insurance provider says one student in every eight living in private accommodation has been the victim of burglary.
This is compared to one in 18 living in uni accommodation, which often has stricter security.
However, students' possessions could be covered through an extension of their parents' Sainsbury's Bank home insurance.
Up to £5,000 worth of laptops, music players and other expensive gadgets could be insured through Sainsbury's Bank home insurance policies.
"Student belongings can be worth thousands of pounds so insurance is a necessity not a luxury," according to Sainsbury's Bank home insurance manager Robert O'May, adding that students, more than any other sector in the population, have more high-value consumer goods per head.
He pointed out: "Sadly, because of the financial challenges many students face, some may decide against taking out home insurance for their belongings, which is a false economy."
