Prudential Property Value Release Plan voted best

Moneyfacts, a financial information group, has awarded Prudential with the best lifetime mortgage provider award.

John Sergeant presented the award to the Prudential Property Value Release Plan at a lunchtime ceremony in the City.

The judging of the products was based on research by the Moneyfacts team as well as the opinions of Moneyfacts' readers.

Prudential's director of lifetime mortgages, Abi Crossley, was "delighted".

She said: "It is satisfying to see that Prudential has been recognised as the best provider in the market, offering good value for customers and giving advisers innovative products to recommend to their clients."

Ms Crossley added that the Prudential Property Value Release Plan "gives people control in allowing them to take their money as and when needed rather than in a single lump sum".

The company beat five others to the title including Northern Rock, Norwich Union and Hodge Equity Release.

The Prudential Property Value Release Plan allows homeowners, where the youngest applicant is aged 60 to 84 years old, to unlock some of the value in their home without the need to move.
