Yes Insurance cashback scheme to benefit 'green' drivers

Online insurance provider Yes Insurance has today embarked upon a cashback scheme that will reward car owners who drive hybrid vehicles when taking out motor insurance with the company.

There will be £40 incentive offered to drivers of hybrid vehicles under the Yes Insurance cashback scheme whereby £20 of this will go to the carbon offsetting organisation Climatesure, as a donation.

At present, hybrid vehicles such as the Toyota Prius, that uses a combination of petrol and electric energy, are exempt from the London congestion charge in a bid to encourage greener vehicles on the UK's roads.

Paul Purdy of Yes Insurance stated: "The cashback scheme forms part of a programme of activities which we hope will focus people's minds on the wider social implications of motoring."

"We believe we have a responsibility to help people minimise the impact that their motoring has on the environment," Mr Purdy added.

Yes Insurance cashback scheme is dedicated to carbon offsetting, a commitment to cutting down CO2 emissions by supporting sustainable energy initiatives.
