RBS Global Travel Money Services products launched

The Royal Bank of Scotland's (RBS') Global Travel Money Services will make foreign currency easier to obtain.

Both currency and travellers' cheques can now be ordered online and over the phone through the bank, can be delivered to the customer's address or local branch and will remain commission-free.

RBS Global Travel Money Services can be used on the whole range of currencies offered by the bank, which according to Doug Gowan, head of Global Travel Money Services for RBS, is "one of the widest selections available in the UK".

Mr Gowan remarked: "The Royal Bank of Scotland offers 73 different currencies and nine types of travellers' cheques."

"With our new online and telephone ordering channels, planning your holiday is just that much easier," he added.

Currencies that have seen the biggest increase in value for money compared to the pound are the South African rand, up 22 per cent on last year and the Icelandic krona which has increased by 18 per cent.

The pound is also better value for money against the US dollar and the euro compared to this time last year with increases of four and 0.4 per cent in exchange rates respectively.
