CIS Funeral Plan to reduce stigma of death

In order to give customers peace of mind in terms of funeral arrangements, the CIS Funeral Plan has been introduced.

In a joint venture between Co-operative Insurance (CIS) and Co-operative Funeralcare, customers will be offered the CIS Funeral Plan, a service designed to reduce the financial burden a funeral brings to families of the deceased.

Three types of the CIS Funeral Plan are available, these being standard, select and premier. Each option is tailored to individual wishes regarding the client's choice of burial or cremation in a bid to reassure customers that their wishes will be honoured.

Co-operative Insurance head of protection Fiona Jackson explained: "Many people from all walks of life and backgrounds can benefit from pre-paying for their funeral. It is an ideal way of making sure that their funeral will be taken care of in accordance with their wishes."

Ms Jackson went on to suggest that the CIS Funeral Plan would "break down the barriers that exist in terms of talking about death".

Co-operative Funeralcare currently claims to be the UK's leading funeral director, with access to a network of over 1,200 funeral homes.
