RIAS Identity Theft Assistance Service launched

RIAS, the over-50s insurance specialist, has introduced its Identity Theft Assistance Service free of charge to all existing and new customers.

Identity crime affects more than 100,000 UK citizens every year and can cost individuals thousands of pounds as criminals use another person's identity in order to run up huge debts.

The RIAS Identity Theft Assistance Service will provide customers with help and support should they become the victim of identity theft and they will be assigned a case manager to relinquish their personal details in the event of such a crime.

Managing director of RIAS Janet Connor stated: "If your identity is stolen, you may have difficulty accessing your bank account and spend days sorting out finances and official documents until the matter is resolved.

"Our ID theft assistance service will not only help our customers pinpoint the illegal activity, but will also help recover a stolen identity."

The RIAS Identity Theft Assistance Service will take place via phone and the case manager would fill out the necessary forms needed so that the process affects the victim as little as possible.
