Abbey Guaranteed Commercial Property Bond introduced

Abbey has launched its Guaranteed Commercial Property Bond along with three other products to add to its bond portfolio.

The additional bonds offered by Abbey are as follows; the Capital Guaranteed Residential Property Bond, the Capital Guaranteed UK Equity Bond, and the Abbey Capital Guaranteed Japanese Equity Bond.

Abbey's Guaranteed Commercial Property Bond is the first of its type to be offered by the bank and customers are provided with an investment lasting between five and seven years that offers either 100 or 125 per cent of FTSE All UK Property Index growth depending on the time length of the bond.

Gary Dale, head of intermediary business development at Abbey Financial Markets, stated: "We have always said that as the market matures we will tailor and develop our solutions. In our discussions with intermediaries, it became clear that a commercial property-linked investment which offers a capital guarantee was something that could appeal to many investors."

All of Abbey's new range of bonds guarantee a full return of capital upon reaching maturity and each bond offers a specific benefit linked with its underlying index.

A minimum investment of £3,000 is required in order to purchase any of the bonds and they will be available for a limited period until January 12th 2007 or before this date if sold out.
