Raging skiers miffed on the piste says Lloyds TSB

Bad etiquette on the ski slopes is resulting in one in five skiers resorting to so-called ski rage, new research by Lloyds TSB suggests.

This winter, one million Brits are predicted to hit the slopes and the biggest cause of anger on behalf of skiers has been found to be being 'cut up' a la on the motorway, with 60 per cent citing this.

A total of 40 per cent of skiers got frustrated by queue jumping and this was followed by collisions causing the third largest amount of ski rage instances with almost a third of people.

Phil Loney, managing director at Lloyds TSB Insurance, stated: "Snow lovers will be itching to hit the slopes this season but rather than carving fresh powder they could find themselves skating on thin ice if they forget piste etiquette and endanger other skiers."

An estimated one in ten skiers will head to the piste without winter sports insurance, increasing the risk of being left out of pocket as a result of any injuries sustained during skiing.

Both the Lloyds TSB Premier insurance and Platinum insurance policies cover winter sports wheras charges apply to the gold service's cover.
