Yorkshire Building Society fixed-rate mortgage range launched

The new Yorkshire Building Society fixed-rate mortgage range is to be launched tomorrow to meet what the society has called "increasing demand".

Encompassing two, three, five and ten-year fixed rate mortgages, the range charges interest on a day-to-day basis and should a customer move house, the product is "fully portable".

With a rate of 4.95 per cent, the Yorkshire Building Society ten-year fixed-rate mortgage also gives customers a loan to value of 95 per cent as well as offering a fee of £595.

David Heshon, product Development Manager Mortgages and Planning said, "Reports from the branch network indicate that there is an increasing demand for longer term fixed rate products. To be able to fix for 10 years at a rate below 5 per cent inevitably mean that this product will be in big demand."

For the second consecutive year Yorkshire Building Society was crowned mortgage lender of the year at the Mortgage Magazine Awards, making it the only lender to have picked up the accolade twice.
