Royal Bank of Scotland mobile banking hits Yorkshire

A new mobile banking service designed to help the people in remote areas of Yorkshire get their finances sorted, has been launched by the Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS).

The Royal Bank of Scotland mobile banking service is to be operated from York and will serve the financial needs of 12 different Yorkshire communities, five days a week.

Ewen Munro, managing director RBS Retail, said that the move by the bank underlined its commitment to local communities with the places to benefit from the initiative being; Sowerby, Filey, Selby, Skelton, Leyburn, Pickering, Wetherby, Saltburn by the Sea, Hipswell, Malton, Guisborough and Catterick.

Mr Munro went on to state: "We have been investing in the mobile banking service for 60 years and even provide a flying bank for the islands off the coast of Scotland."

The Royal Bank of Scotland mobile banking service in Yorkshire follows on from similar schemes across Scotland, Wales and in other parts of England.

Consisting of a fully-equipped Ford transit van, the mobile banking service comes with an in-built counter and customers will be able to make withdrawals, pay money in, sort out bill payments and order foreign currency.
