Leeds ups savings account interest

Leeds Building Society's online saver account has today had its interest account raised to 5.30 per cent – a move the group believes to be an "attractive" deal.

With an interest rate of at least five per cent guaranteed until September 1st 2007, Leeds Building Society's online account requires minimum and maximum investment levels of £100 and £100,000 respectively.

Those people who take up this package, which can only be used online, will also be able to make withdrawals at any time without notice.

Stuart Fearn, product development manager at Leeds, said that the group's online saver account would make a "great addition" to any customer's investment portfolio.

"There is no requirement to open a current account, no short term headline bonuses and it is easy to use, making the account flexible, straightforward and excellent value," he added.
