Yorkshire Bank accounts 'help' Polish workers

Yorkshire Bank is providing a number of services to benefit the increasing number of Polish workers who are making a living in the UK.

For those Polish people taking on Yorkshire Bank accounts, a Polish language helpline is being offered, alongside free Zloty transfers above £500.

To celebrate the introduction of the new service for Polish-speaking consumers, Yorkshire Bank last week put on a vodka tasting event, held at Three Albion Place in Leeds.

Gary Lumby, head of retail at Yorkshire Bank, described the "brave steps" taken by Polish people looking to make a new life in Britain.

He added: "We hope our new service will make life just a little bit easier for them while they settle in."

Founded in 1859, the 200-branch Yorkshire bank was voted the UK's best business bank by the Forum of Private Business in 2006.
