Nationwide mortgage launched

Nationwide has launched a series of new packages in order to offer its loyal customers the most competitive of deals.

From March 1st, the group will be launching a five-year fixed-rate Nationwide mortgage at 5.34 per cent.

The package possesses no reservation fee – which means that Nationwide customers can make a saving of £499 compared to other Nationwide borrowers.

For existing borrowers only, Nationwide will also be increasing its loyalty discount from £100 to £200.

Stuart Bernau, Nationwide's executive director, said that the group was able to be loyal to its customers "because we have no shareholders to please".

He added: "These initiatives form part of a series of announcements to be made over the next few months as the society focuses on delivering value to loyal members, so watch this space."

The prospective launch follows the recently rolled out Nationwide fixed-rate bonds and fixed-rate Isas.
