Nationwide credit cards offer introductory 'incentives'

Nationwide has introduced a new set of outstanding introductory interest rates on its gold and classic credit cards.

From today, both Nationwide credit cards will offer zero per cent on balance transfers for a ten-month period as well as zero per cent on purchases for three months.

Stuart Bernau, executive director of the group, said that the Nationwide credit card changes follow "significant shifts in the market over the past year".

Nationwide credit card customers also receive a host of other benefits with their cards, including commission-free card use abroad, a 12 months extended warranty on certain purchases and 100 days purchase protection against loss.

Commenting on other developments within the group, Mr Bernau said: "This change follows a series of initiatives recently launched by the society including a new five-year fixed-rate mortgage for loyal members and a new range of guarantees on savings products."
