Alliance & Leicester's Isa 'competitive'

Alliance & Leicester is offering a highly competitive new Isa for a limited period of time only, which is designed to incentivise people to benefit from an annual Isa allowance.

Available only to those customers opening one of the group's current accounts, Alliance & Leicester's new 8.10 per cent Isa is guaranteed to be above the Bank of England base rate until April 30th 2008, and allows minimum and maximum investment levels of £1 up to £3,000.

Offered to consumers over the age of 21, the Isa funds can also be accessed via the internet and telephone banking.

Ross Dalzell, manager for savings at Alliance & Leicester, said: "This offer is particularly appealing to those people who haven't already used their Isa allowance for this current tax year.

"If they take advantage of the offer before April 5th 2007, they will benefit from this great rate for both the 2006-07 and 2007-08 tax years."
