Choose a 'competitive' savings account: Birmingham Midshires

British workers are being encouraged to direct their hard-earned bonuses into a competitive Birmingham Midshires savings account.

Research carried out by Birmingham and Midshires estimates that British workers received some £24 billion in bonuses over the last 12 months.

According to the group, almost a third of workers received a pecuniary 'pat on the back', with worker's taking home an extra £1,758 in the process on average.

Many Britons have also got themselves into the habit of saving, with nearly two-fifths believed to have saved all or part of their bonus last year.

Jason Robinson, director of savings operations for Birmingham Midshires, said: "It is important to shop around for the best rate when deciding where to put your hard- earned cash and choose a competitive savings account."

Birmingham Midshires accounts offer competitive rates of interest and possess a great deal of flexibility.
