Mortgage Express self-cert packages an "attractive option"

Mortgage Express has announced that it is carrying out repricing changes on a number of its self-cert packages.

The lender has reduced rates on a number of its packages by up to 35 base points, with one of the most attractive options being its two-year self-cert fixed-rate mortgage at 5.99 per cent.

Available at up to 90 per cent loan-to-value, the Mortgage Express self-cert mortgage possesses an arrangement fee of £999.

The group has also given its three-year package a market-leading rate of 5.44 per cent, with the mortgage having an arrangement fee of 1.5 per cent of the total loan.

Andrew Gerber, head of self-cert mortgages at Mortgage Express, said: "The variable income of many self-cert customers means fixed-rate mortgages can be a very attractive option."

"Our highly competitive products enable customers to obtain peace of mind by locking into a fixed-rate mortgage with a best buy rate," he added.
