Legal & General protection packages 'lauded'

Insurer Legal & General has been rated as top provider in its life protection, critical illness, income protection and menu protection by the Financial Technology Research Centre.

The Legal & General protection packages achieved a top rating in all four categories, the only provider to do so.

The group has made a number of improvements to its protection packages in the past year, including an enhancement of its online protection system, the launch of its interactive underwriting arm and the launch of a warning system to alert advisers when premiums have not been paid.

Bonnie Burns, Legal & General’s protection marketing director said: "Reputation for good service through technology counts for a lot and it's good to know that we have a winning formula.

"We don’t intend to sit on our laurels though and we aim to raise the bar even higher in 2007," she said of Legal & General's protection arm.
