N&P Isa rate 'on the rise'

Norwich and Peterborough Building Society has announced that it will be increasing the rate of interest paid on its fixed-rate mini cash Isa.

Described as "one of the most diverse ranges currently available" by Gary Lacey, N&P's group product manager, the group has increased the interest available by 0.15 per cent on its one and five-year fixed-rate mini cash Isas.

The two-year N&P Isa is now available at a rate of 5.90 per cent, some 0.20 per cent more than the previous level.

Available to customers over 16, N&P Isas enable maximum investments of £3,000, the option of share accounts and withdrawals from any of the group's branches or by post.

Mr Lacey added: "As we're in the new tax year, people are obviously thinking about Isas and we want to make sure our customers are able to benefit from a good rate with the reassurance that it won't vanish in a couple of months."
