NS&I: Scots enjoy premium bond investment 'fortune'

Consumers in Glasgow are benefiting most productively from the potential of premium bonds, National Savings & Investments (NS&I) has claimed.

According to the group, consumers in the Scottish city enjoyed the greatest luck in terms of prize money received compared to bonds held.

Other areas in Scotland also enjoyed good fortune, with Kircaldy and Edinburgh coming second and ninth in the poll respectively.

Other locations in the UK which enjoyed luck in the premium bond stakes included Warrington, Hull, Belfast, Shrewsbury, Ilford, Lancaster and Milton Keynes.

Sally Swait, premium bonds manager at NS&I, commented: "Every premium bond has an equal chance of winning a prize, however Scottish postcodes have been particularly successful this year."

To celebrate 50 years of premium bonds having been offered, NS&I will be offering five £1 million jackpots instead of the usual two.

Customers wanting to get involved in the forthcoming NS&I premium bond draw need to have applied by April 30th.
