PruHealth PMI package set for launch with Boots

High street health and beauty retailer Boots has announced that it will be launching an affordable private medical insurance (PMI) package in conjunction with Prudential's health arm, PruHealth.

Research carried out by Boots indicates that some four fifths of consumers are reluctant to invest in a package due to prohibitive costs.

However, well over a third of consumers have said they would be prepared to purchase a competitively priced deal.

The Boots and PruHealth PMI package provides access to every registered private hospital and NHS private patient unit, as well as access to over 13,000 consultants.

Full cancer cover at every stage of treatment is also available on the PruHealth package, which also enables direct payment.

Shaun Matisonn, chief executive of PruHealth, said: "By teaming up with a trusted company like Boots, we aim to make private health insurance more accessible and affordable via the high street, and really begin to change people's attitude to health and wellbeing."
